How the ranking works
The six parts

| Distance | 46 | From the main population cluster of the audience country to the host’s nearest data-center city; full marks at 8 ms, nothing at about 130 ms. |
| Entry price | 14 | Percentile of the host’s cheapest priced plan among all hosts. |
| Value | 14 | Percentile of the median dollars per GB of RAM across its plans. |
| Features | 10 | NVMe, DDoS filtering, snapshots, IPv6, API, private networking, custom ISO, dedicated-CPU plans; free backups add a little. |
| Reputation | 10 | Trustpilot score, discounted when few reviews exist. |
| Terms | 6 | Whether the host publishes an SLA, refund window, support channel and acceptable-use rules. |
Limits
Latency is an estimate, not a measurement. Prices are list prices converted to US dollars; promotions, tax and renewal increases are not modelled. A host may not offer every plan in every city. Hosts we feature are placed at the top of the ordering by an editorial adjustment on top of the score.
